Three steps and your laptop is ready.
Do this on the laptop that joins your meetings; it becomes your Host and shows a code. Then repeat on the laptop you have with you: that one is your Client, and it connects to the Host.
- 1Step 1 Add from the Chrome Web Store Opens the store page. Choose “Add to Chrome”, then “Add extension”. Chrome Web Store · Join From AnywhereOpen Chrome Web Store
- 2Step 2 Pin the extension Click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar, then the pin next to Join From Anywhere, so it is one click away. Toolbar › Extensions › Pin
- 3Step 3 Sign in Click the Join From Anywhere icon. The side panel opens; sign in or create an account. A short setup asks what this laptop does. Side panel · Sign inCreate an account
BetaWant new features before they reach the store? Try the beta build.
The beta is the newest build, published here as soon as it is ready; the Web Store version follows after Google's review. It uses the same account and works with Hosts and Clients on either version. Use one or the other on a laptop, not both: if the store version is installed, remove it first from chrome://extensions. Download the beta (zip)
- Unzip the file somewhere you will keep (Chrome loads it from that folder).
- Open
chrome://extensionsin Chrome and switch on Developer mode (top right). - Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder. The extension appears as "Join From Anywhere".
- Pin it from the puzzle icon in the toolbar, then continue with step 2 above.
Want every screen explained? Read the step-by-step setup guide.
Both of your laptops need Google Chrome. Windows, macOS and ChromeOS all work. Phones and tablets are not supported yet.
Beta
Desktop app for Windows
For meetings that run outside Chrome. On the Host laptop it installs a real camera, "Join From Anywhere Camera", that Zoom, Teams, Webex and every browser can pick, and it sends the meeting's sound to your Client with nothing to click. Needs Windows 10 (2004) or later, 64-bit, and administrator rights to install.
Download for Windows Microphone during the beta The desktop app sends your Client's voice through a free virtual audio cable until our own microphone driver ships. Install VB-CABLE on the Host, restart the app, and pick "CABLE Output" as the microphone in your meeting. The app's panel shows when the cable is found. Windows may warn about an unsigned installer during the beta. The desktop app signs in with the same account and works with a Client that uses the Chrome extension.
